Dunkirk (2017)

Hey guys! It’s been nearly a month now since I watched this movie and now that I’m sitting down to do this review, I still don’t know how I feel about it. A lot of people I know (aka. coworkers) went to watch this and really liked it and part of me stands behind them, but another one also thinks, was it?

Not sure if it’s obvious but the #1 reason I went to go watch this movie was because it was a war movie. Aside from action packed stuff and car racing (I know I just described one movie series in particular, lol), I do enjoy myself some war stuff. Especially when it says Based on a true story, which I think this movie did

Also, I did go watch this movie in Dolby, which apparently means it looks WAY NICER, but also allows you to feel the loud noises. Interactive and all that

Now then, what was this movie about? Continue reading

Annabelle: Creations (2017)

Hey guys! So I don’t usually watch horror movies but last night I did a closing shift at my job and they decided to do a midnight screening of this movie. After some deliberation I figured I’d stay and watch it

Former toy maker Sam Mullins and his wife Esther are happy to welcome a nun and six orphaned girls into their California farmhouse. Years earlier, the couple lost their 7-year-old daughter Annabelle in a tragic car accident. Terror soon strikes when one of the girls finds a seemingly innocent doll that seems to have a life of its own

The Dark Tower (2017) Adaptation

Recently went to watch this movie, which I had been wanting to see since I saw the preview! Along with Stephen King’s other adaptation It (I have no idea if I’m actually going to watch that one, hehe)

Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), the last Gunslinger, is locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim (Matthew McConaughey), also known as the Man in Black. The Gunslinger must prevent the Man in Black from toppling the Dark Tower, the key that holds the universe together. With the fate of worlds at stake, two men collide in the ultimate battle between good and evil.

Atomic Blonde (2017)

God, how lucky is it that I don’t have to pay for movies when I want to watch them. Otherwise I’m sure I would have been a bit more disappointed with my visit this weekend

Atomic Blonde was one of those movies I was really excited about watching. It starred a kickass woman who was out on a mission (what mission, I had no idea what when I watched the trailer), who was good at hand to hand combat, and who had really cool white hair. Guys, white hair is one of my weaknesses (remembers all the white haired anime boys in my life)

So what is this movie about?

La Belle et la Bete (vs. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast)

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before or not but I am a HUGE Beauty and the Beast fan. It was my favorite princess movie from the classics and I went to watch the live adaptation when it came out this year. Then while I was browsing Netflix I learned that there was another one?! Obviously I had to watch it!

This Beauty and the Beast movie is actually really different from the “original”. For one, Belle has 5 other siblings, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. In this movie they all live together in a mansion but have lost their money and are going to live in a cottage in the country. Like all sisters in princess movies, Belle’s sisters think she’s the weird one, they like their fancy dresses, and they’re not as pretty.  Continue reading
